For the 2025 Hirepool Fishing Competition, there is no t-shirt or measure mat included in your entry fee. It is a requirement for all catches to be submitted using an official Hirepool Fishing Competition measure mat and you will need to choose add one to your entry for an additional cost of $15.

Measure Mat Needed?

All catches must be submitted using an official Hirepool Baitmates Fishing Competition measure mat. Entries on other measure mats will be disqualified.

COMPETITION DETAILS

There’s over $50,000 in prizes up for grabs in the 2025 Hirepool Baitmates Fishing Competition.

For the Adults section, there’s 1st to 3rd prizes for each species (1st to 5th for Snapper, Kingfish & Kahawai), plus there’s 3 mystery length prizes for each species, so any legal size fish could net you a prize.

For the Juniors section, there's 3 mystery length prizes for each species.

There’s also a $2500 Grand Prize Pack up for grabs for all anglers who submit at least 3 fish during the competition.

Entry’s cheap as chips - $15 for Juniors (16 years and under), $20 for Hirepool Trade Account Customers and $30 for Adults.

It's a nationwide competition that runs for the full month of April and you can fish anywhere, anytime.

Here’s how the competition works:

Register for the competition (above) and make your payment
Get out on the water and snag yourself the perfect pannie (or trophy fish) throughout April
Snap a pic of your catches on the official measure mat
Post your catches online via the competition website
Be in to win over $50,000 in prizes!
